1 Response to Rooney at the Railway-Poem

  1. Claire says:

Louis, I really like this piece of writing. The juxtapositioning of a gloomy, boring day, in a banal setting and then suddenly…a star football player appears, almost illuminating the scene with his masculine build (well compared to your own slight figure). And Rooney is just “strolling by”, casually, whilst your heart is “beating like a machine gun firing bullets”. So many different feelings in one small poem. I am so pleased you have begun to understand the power of poetry and that “less is more”.
